Description
TREKFINDER lift kit for SUZUKI Jimny II types GJ & HJ | lift height approx. 40 millimetres | 5-way adjustable damping
This suspension system allows damping adjustment via the TREKFINDER Heavy Track shock absorbers.
The length and tuning of the shock absorbers were developed specifically for our TREKFINDER suspension systems in collaboration with KONI.
The suspension and shock absorbers are supplied from the factory in the most comfortable damping setting.
This set-up is ideal for vehicles driven daily both on and off-road without additional weights.
Smooth damping of bumps, tarmac edges, potholes, kerbs, etc. WITHOUT feeling spongy!
For applications and requirements where a stiffer shock absorber is advisable (e.g. roof racks, winches, camping conversions, etc.), further stiffness settings are available with the KONI shock absorber.
In our opinion, there is a suitable set-up for every application.
The TREKFINDER coil springs from H&R, with their specific design and tuning, work in perfect harmony with our shock absorbers to significantly improve the handling of your Jimny.
The spring rate – linear on the front axle and progressive on the rear axle – has delivered brilliant results after over 20,000 test kilometres in our own Jimny and numerous reports from ‘our’ customer test vehicles....
To round off the TREKFINDER complete suspension system without compromise and give it a PREMIUM feel, we have also developed extended TREKFINDER steel-braided brake hoses for this suspension system, in collaboration with LUCAS GIRLING. This eliminates the fiddly task of routing the original (short) rubber hoses through spacers etc. is no longer necessary, and brake pedal feel is improved :)
Naturally, we also tested the new Jimny to see whether we should offer an even higher suspension set-up, similar to that of the ‘old’ Jimny ( +55 mm ). However, following extensive testing and careful consideration, we decided against it because
:– we would have had to lower the gearbox tunnel strut to create sufficient space for the driveshaft, at the expense of ground clearance – we didn’t want
that – we would have ended up with too much bending in the prop shaft joints, which would mean A.) increased wear in that area and B.) would also increase the risk an additional ‘humming noise’ occurring – new double universal joints would have been necessary....these are extremely expensive to buy – we didn’t want that –
we would no longer have been able to sufficiently compensate for the caster angle on the front axle using our eccentric lower control arm bushings, which would then have required new and longer lower control arms for the front axle....These are extremely expensive to buy and fit, and the cost is out of all proportion to the ‘slight’ increase in ride height – we didn’t want that –
last but not least: the new Jimny already has large wheel arches as standard. To fit larger tyres (sizes that still suit the axle/gearbox ratio and engine power), not too much extra height is required.... if the Jimny becomes too high, it spoils the look. It then looks as though tyres that are too small have been fitted into wheel arches that are too large – that’s not
what we wanted

Tips/Info/Recommendations
:
- Ideal suspension for fitting 215/75R15 tyres to standard rims > see also our TÜV® parts certificates, Item No. 1-SUJI2TUR & 1-SUJI2TURHJ
– towing a trailer is permitted. Please note the permitted
height of the tow ball – for levelling, e.g. when fitting a winch, 10 mm spring spacer rings (item no. 1-FDR10) are available as an option and can be fitted once per spring. In heavily laden vehicles, the springs are slightly compressed, causing the vehicle to ‘sag’ slightly. In such cases, it makes sense to use the spacer discs to restore the correct height. This is particularly useful in the event of one-sided loading or the vehicle being on a slope. The spacer discs are only permitted on vehicles that are tilted. A maximum of one spacer disc per spring may be fitted at the upper end, between the spring and the factory-fitted rubber mount. They may only be fitted if the lift height is less than 40 mm!
– Fitting our steering damper (item no. 1-SUJI2LD) makes the Jimny even smoother to drive (A customer’s comment after fitting the steering damper: “The Jimny feels much calmer through the steering wheel; it’s not as twitchy anymore, especially on bumpy roads. ) – as fitting it is incredibly simple and worthwhile, we recommend ordering
the steering damper at the same time – with its ladder frame and solid axles, the Jimny belongs in the same chassis category as classic off-road vehicles such as the Land Cruiser, Defender and Mercedes G-Class. In all these vehicles, the caster angle changes when the suspension is raised. A few vehicles react noticeably sensitively in terms of tracking behaviour (regardless of whether they are Toyotas, Land Rovers, Mercedes, etc.). In our experience, this affects around 10% of vehicles. 90% of modified vehicles do not exhibit this issue. The caster angle can be corrected by replacing the front lower control arm bushings (item no. 1-SUJI2CAS). As this only affects around 10% of vehicles, and as replacing the lower control arm bushings is a complex procedure that can only be carried out by suspension specialists, we recommend not buying or replacing the bushings straight away… but only when it is truly necessary. So, first of all, drive the Jimny with the new suspension and steering dampers and then decide whether the caster kit should be fitted. If you find that too much of a faff, you can of course fit the Caster Kit straight
away along with the suspension – there’s no need to adjust the toe or camber; to straighten the steering wheel again, you simply need to adjust the push rod.

Notes:
a.)
We will NOT answer or process any enquiries you may have regarding spring specifications (such as wire gauge, wire length, number of coils, spring height, spring diameter, test certificates, individual documentation, coating, etc.)!
b.)
We will NOT answer or process any enquiries you may have regarding shock absorber specifications (e.g. piston design, oil volume, valve bores, lengths, mounting points, thread pitch, etc.)!
c.)
You do not require adjustable Panhard rods with our suspension system; we do not stock them and have no plans to do so! We are also not aware of any manufacturer that produces these with TÜV component certificates! We will NOT answer or process any enquiries regarding this!
Thank you for your understanding.
